A Separate Reality By Carlos Castaneda
In the book A Separate Reality Carlos Castaneda said, to be a man of knowledge one needs to be light and fluid. The book was about the resume of Castaneda of his apprenticeship under Indian sorcerer, Don Juan. When he was collecting medicinal plants from used by Indian from the Southwest, subsequently he met and became the apprentice of Don Juan.
His mission was centered on the idea of going deeper into Don Juan’s world which is how to see life beyond its surface realities. He aims to know beyond the knowledge of ordinary men and he desires to see beyond the vision of the ordinary men. In the book A Separate Reality Carlos Castaneda talked about his different struggles in trying to achieve his purpose. He submitted himself to the teachings of Don Juan and considers himself more as a participant rather than an observer in another world.
Castaneda teaches us a lot of realities about life that seems to be given little attention. He said that one has to reduce into minimum all that is unnecessary in one’s life. You don’t need to be too hard on yourself. Thinking about it too much can cause fatigue. You don’t have to pressure yourself to fall into the demands of the world or the expectation of others. You just have to be yourself. In a separate reality, Carlos Castaneda wrote that feeling important makes one heavy, clumsy and vain.
In his book A Separate Reality Carlos Castaneda encourages everyone that the most effective way to live life is to live like a warrior. He worries before he makes a decision and once he already arrived to one, there’s no turning back. Life should be straightforward and should be brave like that of a warrior. To be a warrior is to be crystal clear. Decisions should not be vague or ambiguous. It should have a clear purpose.
The only way that we can acquire knowledge is to learn. One goes to knowledge as one goes to war. The point of A Separate Reality Carlos Castaneda, people should put absolute confidence in oneself.
It is the will of man that control’s life. There is no single that matters. The important things that matter to us before doesn’t really matter at all because at the end of the day it is all about the will that controls the folly of life. Things appear to be important because we learned to think that they are important.
In A Separate Reality Carlos Castaneda pointed out that everything is equal that nothing is funny. You use your senses to perceive things but these are the product of the control of the folly yet they don’t actually change anything. One must choose the heart in order to be at one’s best.
A warrior knows that he is waiting and what he is waiting for. While he waits he gets nothing. There’s a need to see what is important in life. In the A Separate Reality Carlos Castaneda said, “Only a warrior can survive.”
